I guess I'll go ahead and throw Androids out there again, seeing as it picked up some momentum late in the voting. My nominations are: 1) Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep-Philip K. Dick 2) The Quiet American-Graham Greene 3) A Portrait of the Artist as Young Man-James Joyce 4) The Jungle-Upton Sinclair

I realize there are only 10 spots. Those were just some suggestions. I don't expect all of them to be put on the poll.

"Oryx and Crake" is the only book I have ever liked by Margaret Atwood, and I don't know why that is.

Sorry Emily, my dirty jokes are usually spoken rather than typed. I certainly understand what it means to laugh one's *** off, but 'LMAO' looks like just a bunch of letters that don't spell anything to me. I'm really bad at accronyms  'specially internet ones.

Sorry. Of course I don't mind for June. Thanks!!!
I'm from Azerbaijan (USSR). Azebaijan is situated in Caucasus right between Europe and Asia and one of the most ancient areas of human settlements. It was divided into two part in 1828 after Iran-Russian War. Northern Azerbaijan (the centre is Baku) could reestablished independent republic, Southern Azerbaijan (the centre- Tabriz) is still under the rein of Iran.
"Ali and Ninio" is about my country in 1918. First published in Vienna in 1937, this classic story of romance and adventure has been compared to Romeo and Juliet. For foriegners it's a sotory of romance. But for us just a part of our history. In spite of the author is from Azerbaijan who moved to Europe in 1920, we got an opportunity to read and publish it after collapsing USSR.

thanks for ur interest to my contry's literature. I'm afraid you'll be disappointed. The works of most of our poets aren't translated into English. On the other hand most of the translated ones aren't in electron version. But I'll do my best to help you.

My favorite poet is Mikayil Mushfig who became in his 29 years old a victim of Stalin repression in 1937.
