I've been trying to remember back to a book I read in high school, or perhaps even middle school, but can't put my finger on it. I only have spotty memories of the book but I'll tell you everything I can remember, and see if we can figure this out.
The story took place back a few decades at least, perhaps in a smaller town area. I think it was a first person narrative of perhaps a teen male. This male had maybe an older brother, or uncle, who has a girlfriend, and I believe they end up marrying. It seemed like there was a hint of something between the main character and this woman, but I don't recall if anything ever happened between them. At some point a motorcycle becomes a part of the story, and the main character makes friends with a large powerful man, who I believe an Indian. This Indian took special interest in the bike and enjoyed riding it a lot. I also remember the main character doing some kind of work with people or a woman around the town on their farm, building some kind of barn or the like? I believe near the end of the book the Indian fights some kind of gangster thug of a boss in the town or something.
For now this is about all I can remember. If I can think of anything else to add I'll reply here with it.
