In Search Of Title

HELP!! Several year's ago, I read a rather dark short story by Guy de Maupassant and cannot remember the title. It was about a father/uncle who took his son and nephew fishing. They took a small boat out to a small rocky place. The boat drifted away, the tide came in and the man had to choose who to save. nephew or son. Any ideas?

Sometimes after his French stories and novels have been translated to English they can have a different title for the same story. I can think of a couple of his with (at least) fishing as a theme :)
