I Have just finished reading The Third Policeman by Flann O'Brian. It is Possibly that most absurd novel that i have read in a long time. It is Both Funny and thought provoking, as well as being nonsensical. I enjoyed it so much that i really have to read more of O'Brian to get aproper feel for his work.
I was wondering what those of you who also read this book thought of it! Whether you enjoyed it or thought it was rubbish.
Happy reading!

Flann O'Brien is the great unsung hero of Irish modernism, and a comic genius to boot.

His fascinating debut At Swim Two-Birds wasn't a great success, so The Third Policeman was never even published in his lifetime. I love TTP's amazing flights of fancy, academic and scientific satire, and absurd wordplay. It is a beautiful experience.
