I had read Wutherihg Heights and quite liked the work . I have some trouble with Catherine, her love for Heathcliff and her explanation of it.In particular ,chapter 11 , where she says "i am not jealous of u ,i am jealous four u." Any sugestion to explain her claim is welcome.

Cathy's love for Heathcliff is symbolised by her exclamation to Nelly, "I AM Heathcliff!" The love they feel for each other is such, that they believe themselves dissolved into a single entity - one cannot imagine surviving without the other. Heathcliff and Cathy epitomise love at its almost terrifying extreme. When she says she is not jealous OF Heathcliff but FOR him, Cathy reiterates what she had said earlier - she considered him a part of her and vice versa; therefore, to be jealous OF him would be quite impossible. Thus, she is jealous FOR him - feeling the same emotion as him. Hope this helped.
