Ok, I'm confused do you want a dissertaion about your foot, a dissertation written on your foot??? Wont that make it difficult for your instructor to read?

Ok serious answer, Why not do something about contrasting the relevance of the characters created by Austen and the Bronte Sisters to issues women face in life today - Are Austen's characters onedimensional and obsessed with an outdated class system or do they still offer insight to young women in the 21st century?

Opti--It would help those of us who don't have the pleasure of knowing you well if you could just say what level of schooling you're at. Here in the states "dissertation" usually refers to the book-length paper you write to get the PhD, but I know elsewhere the term can apply to masters level or even undergraduate level work. It would be good to know what level you're aiming for before offering up advice. I'm in the process of coming up with an idea for my doctoral dissertation myself, so I'd be happy to chat about the process of coming up with ideas for any level of educational endeavor. Also, I assume by "the field" you mean English Literature, but I just wanted to make sure, since we have people with a variety of interests on this forum. What authors and/or era of literature have you been concentrating on in your studies? :)
