Demian

Some have said we have gone away,
and are driven between the altar and the stone.
Some venture that our hearts have frayed like cherry blossoms
on the wizened vine.
Our hearts once were merry and covered by kale and wine.
These are fragile shells of us that last for a short while and
creep beyond the frozen pale wastes to die.

Yet we have not left.
Though we do hide in billowy netherworlds
and sleep inside the sloping cliff--it is you that have left us!
Our shadows do not wither, nor do they lie.
Forlorn and forgotten we tend the vine,
and creep out behind the broken statue still
as a watery grave for a golden shield.
Trudging through thorns with tears streaming,
for the Pyres of old have fallen into decay
and the tattooed Aether dwells now in deep darkness.

Ere' we wait.

I love it Demian, I think it's purely original and beautiful in a "clandestine" sense. Truly interesting. Welcome to these wonderful forums as well! :)
