[Like Zirkle2007,I am in an English class where we have been asked to rework Hamlet in modern language, with our own individual twist. My group has decided to redo our Act(actIII scene iii) in a pirate's theme. If anyone has thoughts or ideas on this subject, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Interesting and somehow much harder to picture than a starwars sword fight.
But I have a question do you then have to establish the setting with the new contect pr do you just wade straight in?

You could I suppose do a twist similar to the end of the pirates of penzence. and you could use mutiny...or you could go to the extreme and just borrow some of the stronger sea superstions.

We were thinking about having a little narration at the start to explain what has happened so far, but not go into too much, as the play will be performed in order within our class. Thanks for the ideas, the only thing that we have come up with, was redo the lines using pirate terminology. But I really like the idea of Hamlet starting to stage a mutiny

um actually that wasnt what I meant ---thing is not sure how much I should help you, espicially as your on here because of your course--..... although that hamlet and mutiney might work too .
If you think about the way the story goes, C-- kills the old king and Hamlet wants to kill him.

If your doing it with pirates you might need to think how hamlet relates to the old king, and your probably going to need espcially with this scene the significance of religion and christianity in hamlet and wheter you are going to keep it like that or not?

:D anyway good luck...

Okay, thanks anyway, do whatever you feel is right. I appreciate the help though.
