I am happy to say that this will be the first in a weekly series posted by us Moderators (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19944) giving kudos, thanks, and appreciations to those members who have stood out to us in the past week by their efforts in making LitNet such a great discussion forum!

This is not a competition or popularity contest, its an opportunity for us mods, who don't always have time to participate in the forums, to let you know we still read what you have to say and this gives us a place to thank you.

-

So with that said, I would like to announce our first Member of the Week :D

sciencefan (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/member.php?u=27838) is also a big fan of Jane Austen (http://www.online-literature.com/austen/) and has been contributing much to the discussions in the Jane Austen Forums (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=104) and also helping others with their queries. Thank you very much! :thumbs_up We really appreciate all you have done

I have seen some of your responses to the queries posted on the Jane Austen board, sciencefan, and must say you write wonderfully. It's so great seeing people such as yourself participate and be a part of the growing success of these forums. Congrats on your recognition :)

Nice to see Amanda back.

No, really, are we being serious? Is the member of the week getting Stalin-shaped medals for his/her service to the community?

Employee of the Week, lol. Will this rise productivity?

I liked it when this place was small, quiet and nice. I often feel I don't belong here anymore, but I am occasionally back like these days.

A great concept by our moderators and kudus to Sciencefan, the first of a long run of choices! I have never meet Sciencefan, as we move in different circles, yet I trust the moderators judgement enough to know that you deserve your award! Congradulations! http://www.cosgan.de/images/midi/sportlich/a040.gif

Thank you all for your kind congratulations, and welcomes, too.

I went on a Pride and Prejudice "binge" this winter,
and I came here looking for others who might enjoy discussing the book.
I have learned so much!
I'm really glad I found this place!

I read the book twice and
spent over 20 hours watching 2 movie versions several times!
My daughter threatened an intervention! :D

Time for our second Member of the Week mention :)

.

I just want to say to all of our long time members who come here everyday to welcome newbies, post helpful hints, help others with homework questions, share your stories, post a book review, help us understand your faith and religion, participate in the Book Club and Shakespeare discussions, even those who just come to take quizzes, post in games, or read--I hope you all know that again, like I said in the first post, we don't always have time to acknowledge you or take part in discussions, but we do appreciate all of what you do to make this place so great :) whoa! talk about a run-on sentence eh!?

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a57/c7767/misc/dancingparty.gif

.

With that said, I want to say something about the Personal Poetry section. It has really morphed and expanded in the last number of months. There is much more activity in the number of members who are posting their poems and there is much more quality of feedback and critique which is just great!

At over 20,000 posts it's the 3rd most popular section of the forums (after General Chat and General Literature). So, while our next member of the week has only been with us a little over 3 months, they've been very active in this section offering much encouragement and feedback to others. We would like to thank them and hope they are a member of LitNet for a very long time :)

.

So...without further ado...

:D Congratulations Adolescent09!!! (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/member.php?u=26038) you're our Member of the Week!!! :D

Hello Weisinheimer :)

Maybe you didn't get it? but in The Literature Network Forums May Newsletter was this item:

"In the month of April The Literature Network moderators introduced the "Member of the Week" topic http://www.online-literature.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23703 to thank those who set an example for us all with their great forum spirit or in some way allow all of us to learn something new about literature, ourselves, or the world. Hello Robin,

Nice to see you on the Forum again :)

The Newsletter was emailed (and will be monthly from now on) to the members who have agreed to receive emails from the Forum.

Trouble-shooting if you haven't received the newsletter:

- You can change the settings in your profile to 'YES' where it asks whether you would like to "Receive Email from Administrators" - if you haven't done so already.

- Is the email address in your profile still an active one?

kiz_paws
06-14-2007, 11:39 AM
I know that I have my settings at YES, but I think I accidently deleted that Newsletter, Scheherazade.
Do you think it would be possible to have it re-sent? I'll try to not let that happen in the future...
