The clock struck from the ivory tower
Beneath the moon at midnight hour
Dreaming of his kiss so divine
His touch upon my skin so fine

From high above the balcony
I search below and there is thee
With words of verse you speak of love
My heart uplifted to the heavens above

Just one kiss from my handsome one
Before this night is over and done
The stars that light the galaxy
Could not compare to the light of thee

As three bells toll and signal your leave
I'll wear your heart upon my sleeve
Until the morrow you'll return
'til then my love for you I'll yearn

* * *

"Ever has it been that love
knows not its own depth
until the hour of separation"

Good one Sue .. was reminded of juliet standing on the balcony and Romeo down ... when he tells that love is not possible because of his name , she says , "doff thy name and put me it its place " (or something of that sort) .. ur poem brought back those sweet memories ..
