Heh, those are cute ads. If I ever in fact drank vodka, I suppose I would buy that brand just for the cute factor.

"Thank you Iceland."

I may have to start drinking vodka, that ad was so cool. And I hate ads. And vodka.

Very cool! We need feminist messages randomly placed in more ads! (goodness knows there are plenty promotions of sexist stereotypes and messages used in all kinds of ads)

Wow, I actually didn't care for that ad, feministic or no.

Being of Icelandic heritage, I wanted to say that women in Iceland are not fanatical feminists or anything (not that anyone is saying that, but I had to underline this). Iceland is just proud that they were the first to have a woman president, and if it sells liquor, well whatever....

Anyhow, a better drink (?!?) you can find there is the one they call "Black Death", (svarti dauđi), under the tradename Brennivín. It is called black death for a reason, lol.... ;)

I saw nothing in that add to suggest that all women in Iceland are fanatical feminists.

Hey fellow canuck! :)

I guess I just didn't really care for that ad, it struck me as rather ridiculous. Anyhow, no offence.

None taken, I assure you. I will agree that the ad is rather ridiculous, but that's to my liking. Iceland currently tops my list of places that I would like to visit, and the ad certainly didn't hurt. I was actually looking into attending the University of Reykjavík, but that fell through.

It's certainly a pleasure to meet another Canuck on these boards, and a prairie dweller at that. I'll see you around. :)

Too bad that you weren't able to attend the Univ.of Reykjavík, a friend of mine did that, a guy of Ukranian descent. He was an exchange student, and wound up staying there just over three years. It turned out that he speaks the language so well that not only is he my envy (in a good way, lol), but the Icelandic people there actually thought that he was from 'up North' (Iceland), due to the apparent accent he developed. LoL, neat eh?

Perhaps someday you will be able to travel and see the country, that is my dream, actually, too. (Gotta win that 649, right?) :)
