Looking for a a novel...

Does anyone know of any novels that have "hope" as one of the main themes? I'm looking for something that can be compared to P.D. James' Children of Men. I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out with this.

By the way, I need as many novel names as I can get just in case my teacher decides to reject a couple of them.

I can't say that I've read anything of Children of Men beyond a brief plot synopsis, so this might not be exactly what you're looking for but... Richard Matheson's I Am Legend has a lot of bleak hope about it. It's set in a dystopian future too, with the main character as the only survivor of some kind of apocalypse. It's all about him trying to survive, trying to keep alive the hope that he may not be the only living human left.
