I would be interested to know how many people here are either from Australia or have had this topic inflicted into them at some point. Maybe even what you think on this topic?
I live in Queensland and I've learnt about Aboriginals every year since I started school, we've done spirituality and land rights to death.
Don't get me wrong, because I feel sick to the stomach when I think about what we did to them, but in my oppinion there's only so many times that you can cover the same subject! I'm taking Ancient History and Study of Religion and all we ever hear about is the Aboriginal land rights movements. Where's the diversity?
Am I the only one with this problem, or annoyed by it?
Not that there's much else to choose from when it comes to Australian history...

hello I am in Melbourne, my 16 year old daughter has said the same thing as you over the past years. I suppose the Americans had the same scenario over the native American. Our history is only young by comparison to Europe, as you know. However Land rights was a significant political achievement. It is important to know about your own country though before you go abroad. but your right there are other stories in our history to learn.
