Hey,
I'm new in your literature community and already have one important question for you all.
In this semester term I have to read either Hamlet or Midsummernights Dream from E.A. Poe. What work would you prefer? I'm not sure because I know that both will be hard to read.
Thank you

Guten Tag, Christin!
I highly recommend reading MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, by William Shakespeare:

This Play has a lot of Rhyme and Magic.
Viel Glueck, Christin!

Sorry if I confuse this, but I personally think that Hamlet is better. It is much more powerful, although A Midsummer Night's Dream is also good... I just think that it lack's some of Hamlet's eloquence and subtlety.

...HAMLET is more eloquent and subtle, but it may be utterly confusing to a Neophyte.
In my personal opinion, MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM appeals to the Layperson and the Literati.:thumbs_up
Have a great Weekend!

Thank you for your answers. I already posted my question to another forum. I got the same results. I guess I have to choose after my teachers. If the first lesson is ok I will take this course... I just know that it will be hard for me though because I'm not a native English speaker. I didn't even read those works in German... tough decision to make
