View Full Version : What I cannot live without

I should flatly announce that it's education, simply. Yeah education because as the popular saying goes....education is light. Thus, without light everything
will certainly turn to dull and dim shape. Hence, no one could move his feet to anywhere but defenitly remain unsure, standing alone (and maybe forlon).

In this entire life, if I knew I would be denieded to pursue my education, I will pray not to have ever been born to this planet. Great kudos to my able parent for such a golden opportunity they grant me of pursueing my education, which I, in no small effort, rightly grab.

What do you think you cannot live without, my people. Describe it in few words to us please.

Thanks.

Hey man!
I personally cannot live without MONEY. Who could afford paying school fees and other dues for pursueing education without money? I think nobody. Yeah money guys.........isn't it a plain truth?

I'd pick the lyrics of the wonderful Kaiser Chiefs song 'Ruby':

There is nothing I need
'Cept the function to breathe

Food, clothing and shelter may be basic, but they are unpoetic :p.

When I was answering the main post I was thinking of myself in the worst situation.

As much as most of us pretend all we need is books and knowledge, noone could survive without somebody else's company... They wouldn't be particularly sane anyway.

Then again, who says we need sanity?

I just contradicted myself.

Philosophy? Funny, Maslow's hierarchy was one of the first things we learned in economy class. Along with a similar but much more detailed model by someone named Alderfer.

Well, I shall assume that food/shelter is not part of this question, I shall assume that the question is 'what can I personally not live without'. And my answer is my loved ones (includes my precious dog, too, lol). Good question, muhsin! :)

Economy or Economics? In what way?

I studied this concept in Business Management, it came under one of the management process (planning, organising, controling, etc.), not sure which one (studied it quite some time back), but, it dealt with the human resource part. It's more to do with the psychology of a human being, as in, how they will fulfill their needs or something like people work to fulfill different requirements, so, under which category of the pyramid will it come. It can be generalised too, because it isnt that the people working in organisations only have needs :p

Oh, btw, going by the weather of Delhi these days, I think I can't live without water :p.

I'm with you muhsin. of course, I listen to music every now and then, but I don't understand how people can listen to it all day. it would drive me crazy. plus, I don't understand when they do all the listening. I mean, I'm mostly busy doing other things (even when I'm not doing anything meaningful), like reading, doing homework, reading, reading).. the only time I listen to music is while I'm doing the chores (which doesn't happen very often). :alien:

Listening to some music, the kind I like to listen to anyway, is like listening to poetry. Paul Simon, Elton John, The Eagles, Beatles, on and on.... check out some of the lyrics.

That is it. I personally don't have any fixed time for listening to music because its of little importance to me.

I listen when I'm reading, driving, doing chores, taking a bath, I sing at work, there's music going all the time at work. Listening to some music, the kind I like to listen to anyway, is like listening to poetry. Paul Simon, Elton John, The Eagles, Beatles, on and on.... check out some of the lyrics.

What kind of reading? Do you mean even reading for exam purpose? I never think one can read extensively not leisurely with a music simultaneously playing. Even driving, one cannot do it with a music as it may get him excited and there then anything is at the door to happen.

Intelligent discussion, because that's the gateway to all knowledge.

Nice choice. I like it.

Good also. But this is something a bit difficult to get in these days. Though I have lots yet...isn't it?

without hope *_*

This question has nothing to do with anything natural--inborn. Some are born without hope while some with. No matter how hard you try to build it in the former type of people you'll fail. So, hope is a nature.

Any way, where are you for ages? Wish all is OK.

Mushin, when I'm reading for pleasure, which is the only reading I do nowdays, I listen to music. I always have music going in the background. I am used to a noisy house and it's comforting. When I'm reading, I usually have some classical music on.

It still sounds strange to me. Do you know why? When am reading some literary text (a novel) I walk away from any sort of noise because it'll be distracting my attention which I wholly want upon the text am reading for the either sake of exam or entertainment. But that is individual differences.

You are right, it is an individual preferrence. I don't have to take exams anymore but when I was in school I would listen to music when I studied. It seemed to help me retain what I was learning. But, I am used to noise. I had six brothers so it was noisy when I was growing up and in school. Then I had three kids when I returned to college and they were noisy. I guess music helps block out the other noise.
