if you could change just one decision you made in your life, what would it be and why? :p

Just some general philosophy of mine to begin the the thread with:
I think it's better to regret things that you did than to regret things you didn't do.
But to answer your question: I regret having moved far away from home just for a job...a job that I regret having taken ;)

As much as I dislike regrets, and am reasonably content to live with the decisions I have made, both good and bad. It all goes to being a part of me & I actually quite like me.
However if I had to change one thing, I would have not dropped out of Glasgow Uni when I was studying Immunology. I got scared of expectations, scored 98% on my first Organic Chem test and felt completely unable to live up to the opinions others had of me (first person in fathers side of the family to go to Uni etc)

I had a chance to get involved with computer sales very early in the computer revolution, therefore I would be a multi-millionaire today instead of a pauper. But, this is a minor decisive factor.

if its any consolation, i received all high grades for my classes at law school but dropped out after my first year, scared of my own expectations! :i'm still glad i did, though.
thanks for sharing kilted.

It is not legitimate to solely alter just one decision in life,as we a raft of dreams. But the most critical I want to attain is my knowledge. One reputedly cannot live without knowledge.Knowledge comes in eclectic ways,it also gives you power.

I’ve been thinking about this question and I’ve decided that if I could change one thing I would not have tried painting my kitchen cabinets. I started a year ago and I’m still not done and they are now very hard to clean. I really look forward to new cabinets.

Coulda Woulda Shoulda
Oh, so many to choose from. I would have studied harder...I wouldn't have reacted to a certain situation...
Actually, the more I think about the decisions I made, I am realizing that they all got me where I am now. I thought before that I made bad decisions, but apparently I made some good decisions too since my life is not completely terrible.
Maybe I'm feeling a little too optimistic today and that's why I can't come up with a good answer for this thread. I'll check back when I'm having a crappy day (if I think about it) and we'll see what answers I could have come up with.

I don't really know,actually...Last week,I was at an interview for getting accepted in a certain youth organisation and after telling the interviewers about a couple of my decisions, they asked me:"Well, suppose you can rewind, like in a film, would you not do these things a second time?".And I answered no,I would do them again, without a doubt, because in a way,it's because of them that I am who I am,that I feel free right now or that I have enjoyed of life as much as possible...

I'd rather change a decision my parents made-- to have me...

I would have never had that first drink when I was 14 as it started off a chain of events that continued for years...years I do not look fondly upon.

I regret I have not got a degree of economics, and had I got it I could have benefited in many respects. I have got a master's degree in literature. Literature does not necessitate a degree and without having one I still can taken an interest in literautre. To read a poem or a novel or playwright one does not need formal degrees and one can without holding a degree study literautre. Whereas in Economics it is essential in that it updates you with the latest development and besides there are other important issues like if you do not go to college or appoint a tutor it will be hard to understand mathmetical things. As such it is necessary.
However, I do not care for literautre is a big domain and I have many things to revel in this world of literautre.

What a coincidence, blazeofglory. When I saw this thread I came to post about how I regretted taking economics as a main subject in college. I have a master's degree in economics, but I wish I had taken literature instead. And I find that you have posted the exact opposite, LOL!

I don't know the reason behind your comment, but I personally happy that they did have you, Pen (speaking from a fan point of view ;)).

Looking back at first it seems like lots of things I would change...Hmmm
But ALL the decisions I've made in the past both Good:angel: and Bad:sick:
have been instrumental in the making of who I am today..
and with that said...
I would NOT change a thing ..:D
