I have a book called "Misfionsfalmer" that I got at the bookstore. It is by O.Waldeland and the inside cover talks about being "entered according to the Act of Congress in the year 1980". I would like to know more about this book but I can not find any information on the author or what language it is in. I think it might be Norwegian but I am not sure.... below is the title page. I would appreciate any help.

I think it could be both Danish or Norwegian (The differens isn't that big) but most likely it is danish.
However there are a lot of mistakes in the language, are you sure you typed it wright?
in Danish the words would be missionssalmer, Gudstjenester, salmer, opbyggelser, bønnemøder.
Anyway I can help you with the content of the book.
It is a collection of hymns, psalms and other songs for different occasions,
most of them religious, but it also says parties (Fester).
I think you have gotten hold of some book that was published in some kind of old Danish setlement, that somehow still has some Danish roots.
I think one of such cities is called "Solvang" but I'm not really sure. Hope this helps.

Oh just thought of something else.
It seems that it is a new print of some older work. This could explain the errors. I think it has been copied of some older book which might have been print with black-letters. This is a kind of old gothic german print (font) which can be quite difficult to read. The errors in the text you have written reminds me of the mistakes I made the first times I read a book in this kind of print.

And another thing. I think the name O Waldeland suggest that it might be a Norwegian writer, but again, it is kind of hard to tell sometimes
