mute lament

help please! There's a line from a poem (?) that keeps running through my head and I don't know where I read it from; I'm not even sure if this is it verbatim, but it's something like


reaching their hands to the sky in mute lament for the spring

not quite. every day I go to college there are trees that are doing just that. Now though, they are beginning to bud and it's so nice to see spring in the air.
