Silence speaks louder than words,
Thousand emotions one heart holds,
Eyes hide fears untold,
Yet lips smile, true feelings never unfold.
With time, laughter becomes a habit,
All slips to the back of mind – but a bit,
Love lingers, but eventually the heart spits,
It’s the hurt that stays; with every heartbeat it tics!
All that may fill the days is bought,
The nights are often spent uncomfortably in thoughts,
Shall a day dawn when the past be blocked?
Shall one, again with real happiness be rocked?
Although pride keeps your head from bowing,
Your defenses are up; hard against lowering,
It’s just a hope that keeps you going;
a faith that helps to keep the boat afloat by constant rowing.
