How the leaders of animal farm use language to distort reality & control the animal?

Well, the most basic is the use of "Comrade", to give the illusion of equality.

Moving along from there, the constantly changing commandments of the wall, the way the words are twisted by addition to suit the pigs' purpose. No animal shall sleep in a bed - with sheets. Commandments are added to rather than changed, giving the illusion of having always been that way.

The endless, mesmeric rhetoric from Squealer, where the truth never surfaces; "Four legs good, two bad" bleated over the top of everyone else when something contentious might be said; the constant repetition of "Do you want to see Jones back?", despite the fact that most of the animals don't remember what Jones was like anyway. The rhetoric guarantees that the animals will think Jones was worse, when as the pigs boast, conditions are actually worse.
