I've seen her books around and am interested in the time period. Are her novels actually historical fiction, or like those romance novels that just want to put in a time period?

IMHO poorly researched and sexed up to attract the readers

She wrote The Other Boleyn Girl amongst other things, right? I've been meaning to read it. I've heard her books are very good.

If you're after a good read set in the Tudor period (I don't know as much about the other books she wrote), then she's pretty interesting. The historical accuracy has been debated, particularly in The Other Boleyn Girl. (Which alleges that Anne Boleyn committed incest). Hope I haven't given too much of the plot away...

IMO Jean Plaidy is a far better read. Well researched and historically more accurate. Or you could try Margaret George; her "Autobiography of Henry VIII" is very good.

I really liked her books especially The Queens Fool i think its called and the Wide acre series although I think the books focus more on what could have happened then actual fact they did make me fall in love with the characters which mayed me more interested in the actual people behind them

If you want historical accuracy, Phillippa is NOT the place to go. It wasn't extremly far off...but it really was sexed up and such to attract readers. You could try Carolyn Meyer, she writes really good teen historical fiction and the same for Anne Renaldi. I also think Alison Weir's Six Wives of Henry VIII is a great work of nonfiction.

Alison Wier has also written fiction about the wives of Henry VIII and well I havent read them but I gather she did her research.
