Tiny Artist

There was a tiny poet who loved to write haiku
And fond of The Nutcracker Ballet, an artist in pen and ink.
Her drawing of the dancer poised upon the point of a single shoe—
Brought to mind The Steadfast Tin Soldier and his love in pink.
Whether by drawing or by writing, the artist in Jaine still shines,
Double blessed, double gifted, with wondrous talents to share.
Back that up with her soft and gentle spirit, words always kind—
And we see that here we have a person, in this world all too rare.
We marvel at your sweet voice in verse, your poetic lines,
We are astonished by the skillful stokes of pen that create art.
Though in truth, both are the same, writing is formed in lines—
But artwork forms the lines in a picture from the image in your heart.
So now I write these lines to you to celebrate your birthday—

Petrarch Ahhhh....these pictures are wonderful, so lush and lovely are the lilacs. You remembered that I said my favorite flower was lilacs. I could not believe it when I saw your birthday presents. I am impressed with your memory. Your choice of photos is exquisite.
I love all the photos. The first one is so pretty and I can imagine sitting there with you having a nice cup of tea and a delicious piece of that beautiful cake. I even know that china pattern on the table - I think the cups are printed with violets - another of my favorite flowers. The setting is perfectly me! Thanks so much. I never saw that painting and I love it, too. Inspires me to get out those old oil paints and give it a go again.

how "tender" and sweet of you to wish me happy birthday. No problem at all being late. I am always late for most things. I think we need a birthday alert system, don't you? I may have missed some myself. Hard to catch them all.
Actually I am trying to make my birthday last awhile, so you are not late - it always has to encompass one weekend. It only comes once a year so you might as well enjoy it, even if you don't welcome the added year, not at my age anyway! Thanks again for your well wishes! My celebration on here was truly memorable.

I love the way you have quoted some of our talented members and their fine poetry...that is really nice on your part.

Schokokeks, you can never be too late. I have been trying to make my birthday last all weekend....seems to be working. Those cookies look wonderful, and homemade from your kitchen, as well...I can smell the warm aroma of chocolate chips melting in the oven...yum.
