The title says it all. I'm curious about how many books can one write in his/her life? I think it was Isaac Asimov because he wrote like 500 books that include magazine articles, research, etc...
The North Korean dictator claims he has written over 1000 books. (yes I know his name, but no I can't spell it).

Look up The Guiness Book of Records. They've usually got oddities like that. Is there a mathematical formula to show the relationship of quantity to quality so that as the graph of quantity increases the graph of quality decreases.... there's a whole book in that pointless question for some stumblebum to pursue

off the top of my head I've heard that Ray Bradbury was known for writing a huge number of works, but I'm sure he's no where near the top most published author.

I think John Steinbeck, Charles Dickens, and Virginia Woolf have written and published the greatest quantity of great top quality novels, but I am sure they are nowhere near the most published authors.

For me it's not so much the "number" of books published but the amount of material published. For example Walter Gibson wrote 282 Shadow 'novels' that would probably fit in about 100 reasonably sized books numbering 200 pages or so. Martin Luther and John Calvin have produced material that boggles the mind for 'quanity', page count what have you. I'm personally reading Charles Spurgeon's sermons--one day at a time. The average page count is 12 pages (1st years were 8 but the print was TIGHT) - multiply by that by 3561 and you have approximately 42,732 pages alone to read.
Just saying--plus I wanted a nice post for my 300th.
Ultimately it's the QUALITY--not the QUANITY. This reminds me of one of my earliest posts ever to what's the fastest read book and I decided Dr.Seuss anyday of the week. Fun times, fun times. :yawnb:
