Hey little_lomax,
The need for stereotypes brings the comedy to the play.
Dogberry, he's very silly and stupid, his malopropisms provide verbal comedy.
The exageration of the war where's there no deaths brings the comedy into the play.
Beatrice and Benedict's witty banter has an unrealistic element to it because of the speed of the replies from the two characters.
It's too 'slick' to be realistic which is where the exageration occurs.
Leonato's change in mood embodies fairness but when he finds out about Hero being a rotten orange, he uses harsh language to Hero.
Don John is the stereotypical villain and he doesn't say a great deal. He is purely there to cause trouble. He lacks any redeeming qualities.
Thanks.

Look at almost any of the lines between Beatrice / Benedict.
