Do you guys remember Nick, that 14 year old kid who interjected random stuff into each thread, I just thought of something, he had endocarditis right, well he only had a few months to live, and probably right now isn't with us.

I feel bad, we weren't all nice to him, and he was probably just looking for a friend.

I don't know about you guys, I don't even know why I am writing this... Maybe we should have a memorial or something.

Hm. His favorite book was "As I Lay Dying." Do you know if he ever had a valve replacement, if there's a chance that he may be alive? I just e-mailed him in case.
<<<Nick,
This is azmuse from The Literature Network. I just wanted to say "Hi," see if you're ok. Do you mind writing back to let me know?
Thanks,
Asha>>>

Stan, I understand what you mean about feeling bad. I unintentionally bragged to someone about getting a better job and I think that someone felt bad they didn't get a better job. That someone recently died in a car accident. And I didn't really think about it until that happened. It just made me realise that maybe we should just try to be nice to people whenever we can, we will not always acheive this, it is impossible, but tomorrow they could be dead.

whats endocarditis?

Your heart muscle is myocardium. Myo-muscle, cardia (Greek, kardia)-heart. The endocardium lines the inner cavities (atria and ventricles). It separates the heart's chambers vertically and covers the valves, which are responsible for letting the blood into your heart's chambers, pulmonary trunk, and aorta (big doughnut looking thing that pumps blood throughout the body, excepting the lungs) and preventing them from backing up. Additionally, it is continuous with your blood vessels.

Endocarditis is the infection of a heart valve. It can cause the valve to malfunction, and also spread elsewhere into the body and result in septicemia (bacteria-ridden blood). Which is life-threatening and can lead to septic shock (severe infection ->blood pressure falls->vital organs may function improperly/fail).
People with endocarditis sometimes end up with this condition after valve replacement. I wondered, with his dad's millions, if there were a chance he could have gotten antibiotic therapy. (Don't know how expensive they are/his condition, overall.) Also, if it's caused by a fungus, then heart valve surgery is generally required.
The valves pictured below are #'s 15, 16, 17 (and 17) if that helps.

...I wish that someone had contacted us if he's gone...

We should set up a place for him or something, he wasn't exactly a good friend, but I feel pretty depressed, I mean he was only 14. Maybe we could have a memorial or something?

Wise words Lara... nothing like a little ole' reality check to (hopefully) cause you to think about what the consequences are when you treat someone like crap huh?

I feel pretty bad, I was kinda harsh with him a couple of times, I hope I didn't make it worse. You know how it is.

He went to Canada for a holiday, I don't know if he's back yet. I don't think he's gone... it'd be incredibly sad if he was... but I mean, don't antibiotics clear up endocarditis? I looked it up in a cardiology book once when he mentioned it, it sounds kinda bad... but nic dead??? I actually do miss the guy. It's sad when people disappear from here. He wasn't too bad, he just never read what we wrote. Which in some ways is a good thing. ;) I hope he's ok.

He had his down sides, but he wasn't that bad, when he paid attention he could contribute.

I remember him..he was one of the person I took notice in my early days here..specially when he complained in one of his posts about his dad..
I replied "say Nick, you wanna trade your dad with mine..?"
To bad, no answer..I'd love to hear from him about it :D

I'm sure he's fine... Or at least I hope so. If he's not I'd never forgive myself for not reaching out to him when he sounded so down. Poor wittle nicky. But, you know, he WAS pretty annoying. ..
