I have to write an 8-10 page research paper for my History of the English Language class, and I decided to look at alliteration in literature of Old English as compared with Middle English. But when I ran a search at my Library I came up with over 700 non-specific hits! (When I tried to search specifically, I didn't get anything.) Can anyone recommend a good resource while I delve into these first 50?

Maybe it's my focus, I tend to pick some strange things sometimes.

I suggest you do a google with the search strings of "alliteration literature Old English" and " Middle English," and "alliteration literature Old English compared Middle English" and variations. Read the info from the links provded, and write your paper. There's no easy way out -- you've got to read.

Maybe this will help. Download the free English (not American) voices for the best results. :

Thank you hal9000! Sometimes my biggest problem is how to do the search more than reading.
