Hi,
I'm currently trying to get some ideas for my dissertation and was wondering if anyone could help. Basically what I had wanted to do was to look at the Dystopic genre in some way; initially I wanted to cover key writers such as Wells, Orwell, Huxley, etc. But this proved to be far too broad a question as I have an 8, 000 word limit. I’m currently thinking about breaking the essay into three sections with each looking at a particular theme within dystopic fiction, e.g. feminist would be Atwood and The Handmaid’s Tale and so on. The problem I have found with this is that I can’t really think of any other definitive themes and equally I can’t think of other authors to go with them.
So basically I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for three themes within dystopic fiction that I could cover and the authors which best represent them?
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!!
Many thanks,
Gavin
