1. maps promising a fable.
2. open on their lives like crouching tombs.
3. open-handed map awarding its world a word.

Yes, these are personifications....... it's an act of giving an object or an animal a human trait {as far as I am concerned these extracts are quite an example} .......if it was not a human trait, but an unreal characteristics, it would then be a metaphor....:idea: I hope I'm right
