Hi all!

Have you ever noticed that, whatever language you speak, there are some words which are just great?! These are words which, for whatever reason, you just love; that perfectly express what they're about, and are what make language fun. Words like, gobbledigook, and slap-dash, and rendevous, for example.

So what I want to know from you is; what are your favourite words, and why?

I'll start the ball rolling with:

delicious

because it's a big, round, full flavoured word I just want to bite into!

I'm always saying 'Uff da', which is of Nordic descent. Its not going to be found in any dictionary, but is an exclamation generally used to describe physical exertion...i.e. You've just helped carry a piano up the stairs. The correct thing to say would be, "Uff da, let me catch my breath."

My favourite words are "perplexing" just because of the way it sounds (I also like "plexiglass" for the same reason.) My other favourite word is "galore" because it is the only pictish word in the english language and the only adjective that goes after what it is describing.
