help with a research paper on Brave new world

I need to write a 1000 word paper with 5 written sources no more than 3 years old from New York Times online, a periodical from LINCC,and reliable internet source. The book I choose to read was Brave New World. I need to choose a theme or topic from the novel and explain how it is present in real life and evaluate the authors skill in realistically portraying that theme or idea. I do not even know where to begin. If any one has any suggestions I would really appreciate the help.

I think there are a couple of ways you could go with this. Personally, I think you can go about this from the standpoint of religion and/or consumerism. I don't know if you've read the book or not, but Huxley basically created a world where everyone was conditioned to act and feel a certain way in order to fufill a kind of utilitarianism and through this. Everyone was basically a controlled agent of the state, programmed to do and believe what the state wanted them to in the name of utilitariansm. This, to me, is very reminicsent of religion and consumerism. Religion is self explanatory and through consumerism, you see advertising that has an aim to (and has largely suceeded) plant the seeds that will result in the desired behavior of the marketers.

edit- And by the way, that paper should be a piece of cake. For a topic such as this, 1000 words is nothing!
