Your courtyards of war, in dear mourning
Abash not our lashings, giving precious wages
Look who bore your core forlorn, might alone failing
For a roaring tear craves our cancerous frailty
Unhelpful wanting needing to sink away,
Exiled lands feeding our spirit, held behind to filter earthen dirt
Searching near airs of grace, to seek the ever consuming heat
Our flailing desires, urging towards a deeper plunge
Each event newly pursued, blessed to gorge on finer ways
We seek the war, we seek mourning for
Whatever may be in our way, we rejoice in our turning away of good
O’ our happy hate we defile all within
I can’t reject this fate ‘till at least one is shown it to be not our ever-way

What of the fire? Is it blinding or illuminating? Do minds of flesh even comprehend its beauty? Is fire beauty or a consuming evil? Frankly, either answer doesn’t matter for we love it. Do we not? Or should we repel our fiery loves for they lead only astray?
