Some tips on poetry and how to improve

Hi,Eveyone I am fairly new at writing poetry. I have written poetry on and off for about two years . I am a beginner and need a lot of work. I am fourteen .

Write lots and read lots and don't be afraid to imitate the stuff you like.

And don't be upset by criticism, and try and judge your own poetry in the way you'd judge someone else's - not too harshly nor too softly.

I only write poetry. My advice is: read read read read write write write write.
my experience, at least, has shown me that there is no constant improvement pattern in writing poetry- no learning curve or somthing. It has proved to be a jagged process for me. Sometimes you pass times where poetry simply flows off your hand and then it dries up for a bit.. I think it's all part of BEING a poet, not just writing poetry. For example I have written stuff this year that is, in a sense, worse then some things I wrote a year ago.and vice versa
