Anybody here see the original production of Equus on Broadway with Richard Burton? (I only saw his follow-up, Leonard Nimoy, who was excellent)

I bring it up because USA's CNBC newscasters are laughing about the Harry Potter actor playing nude on the British stage. Which is true, but they obviously know nothing about this extraordinary play. It was/is a stunning play, esp. with men (I would assume) clomping around the stage on metal hoofs and metal horse-heads. While there's a scene with nudity, it's a mind-bender of a play, that these so-called educated newcasters are ignorantly gassing about.

Anybody see Burton perform it?

Anbody see Burton perform in any play?

No, I haven't seen Burton in this, or anything else, but I agree that they must not know anything about the play. I haven't seen the play at all, for that matter, but reading it makes me think it would be a real joy to see performed. Extraordinary, yes! It's definitely on my list of pilgrimages. Peter Shaffer did a wonderful thing.

 That's great that they would pick out the nudity. *Gasp! Nudity! On stage?*
