Psychiatry thinks that all ones trouble can be traced to the pile of noodles 1/2 behind your forehead. Christianity thinks all your troubles are spiritual in nature. How on earth did these two get married? Go to this web site and check out what they say. www.cchr.com

I think that the two can have a relationship, but only on very carefully delineated terms. Modern psychology has a tendency to be humanistic in approach - and as such, that approach takes no account of sin, temptation and evil into its approach; everything is a "disease" or a passed on trait - both of which contradict what the Bible says. However: the basis of good counseling is helping the individual face things about him/herself - and that is valuable, and biblically consistent. Scriptures encourage us to share our struggles and shortcomings with others. It's all the diagnosing of "mental problems" that gets risky - because many diagnoses involve removing responsibility from the individual - and Christianity is very much involved with the idea of personal responsibility.

Psychiatry is not psychology though and I am referring to psychiatry. Psychiatry is so well intrenched that in some churches you can actually get your 'medication' at the church it self. You and I know there is not a pill on heaven or earth that can put it all back together for these people. And there is nothing wrong with their brains. It is fraud, no, it is crimes against humaity because these drugs like the SSRI variety cause permanent brain damage. Thanks again for the comm.
