Can anyone recommend a book for a 18 year old that facing the truth of growing up, living your life without any obstacles, having to make decisions, etc....

I'm not sure if I can elaborate but I guess in general a good book for people around this age.

OR if you insist you have a good book classical or contemporary that's like a must read, you could recommend that too I guess.

Hm, are you looking for a bildungsroman or anything of that sort ?
In any case, I'll just name those few that come to my mind and have to do with growing up.

* Moon Palace by Paul Auster traces the coming of age of a student around 1970. It also involves a bit of American history of that time and culture in general. I found it a good read, though I sometimes was on the verge of hitting the narrator with his own book, because there are episodes where he just behave incredibily foolishly :D. But that's entertaining and enlightening, too :).
* David Copperfield by Charles Dickens, also the story of a boy's coming of age, though in a slightly different setting ;).
* The Odyssey by Homer. Besides being the great tale of homecoming, it also portrayes the coming of age of Telemachus, Odyssey's son, who has to grow up without his father. Although here the emphasis is not directly on the growing-up theme, it's an interesting read nevertheless.
* Of Human Bondage by Somerset Maugham, I remember having liked that one very much, too.

That was off the top of my head, I hope it helps . I'm sure others will have more suggestions.

Off the top of my head:
The Catcher in the Rye (J.D. Salinger), Huckleberry Finn (Mark Twain), Lord Jim (Joseph Conrad).

I second Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. Read it a couple times- things get clearer the more you think about it. I've never met a person who has read it that hasn't identified in some way with Holden Caulfied.

Anything by Horatio Alger Jr....His books are all about young boys having adventures, difficulties, money problems, etc. I would really recommend them for any guy young or mature. Although Mr. Algers books are about boys and young men, they are very good reads for girls as well. I'm a girl and I learned a lot from his books. So everyone can enjoy his work. He has many books and all are good, but my personal favorite is Ragged Dick and Struggling Upwards. You can get his books at www.bn.com .....Hope this helps! :)
