Got a sneaky suspicion that this is a good thing and you are *somewhat* happy about it (yeah, the bananas are a big give away!) :p

Congratulations! :)

What will you be studying? Does that mean you need to move? When are you starting?

English Lit is my major, I do indeed need to move out west (and it will be a big improvement over my current city of residence), and I will be starting in September, assuming that I manage to raise enough money.

I'm sorry about being such a confuzzled thing, but - which Victoria?

But apart from apologies I want to also offer you congratulations. Go English Lit Majors. I was going to major in English (as well as music) but this year I got a transfer to the Sydney Conservatorium so now I'm majoring in performance instead. :)

Are you planning on Honours, Masters...PHD? Or are you one of those wonderful down-to-earth people who actually concentrate on the degree they're currently completing and then go and think of the next step (instead of dreaming of the far future from the beginning ;)).

Well, congratulations again. Enjoy it. :) Uni's a fantastic place.

UVic, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada (http://www.uvic.ca/) for all the non-North American members :D

Congrats cuppa! have you looked into scholarship/bursaries/grant money? friend of mine, for every year that she attended U of T got at least $1000 per year (and $2000 once for just one semester) its amazing how much money is available if you are persistent and plow through all the bureaucracy and forms to fill out.

Or are you one of those wonderful down-to-earth people who actually concentrate on the degree they're currently completing and then go and think of the next step (instead of dreaming of the far future from the beginning ).Well, I'm going to get the BA and see where that takes me. The current plan is to collect degrees until the dork police kick in my door, give me a sweater-vest and make me take a job as a professor, but that could easily be revised.

I'd have it easily if they only counted the classes relevant to my major, but, unfortunately, I suck at math. I've been checking around to see what else I can find, though. Did you know you can get a scholarship for being tall?

Did you know you can get a scholarship for being tall?

Thats unreal  ! I'm attempting to get a Ukrainian fellowship scholarship for next year, so I've been doing my best to properly learn Ukrainian which I've only casually known since I was younger. There are lots of scholarships and bursaries out there though, I was amazed at the sheer number they presented us with, although I was only eligible for 2 or 3, if I can get any money I'll be happy.

I'll say congratulations, despite being totally oblivious to the Universities in North America... Just a general silly British person who hasn't got a clue!

Wow that is really awesome news. I am so glad for you. I know how it feels waiting to find out if you get accepted or not (grrr impatience tortures me) :p ...so I am glad your waiting is over. Good luck in the fall.

Are you in highschool right now Cuppajoe or are you doing some other jr. college thing like me?

I'm at Medicine Hat College (http://www.mhc.ab.ca/) at the moment, but I can't go very much further into my English degree there, and I don't much like living in Medicine Hat anyway.

Congratulations on your University acceptance. Recommend strongly grants or possibly business grants in the area towards higher education. I have a co-worker who is a marvel at getting student aid from all kinds of sources. Best to you. Yes I can see you as a profesor.

Ah, so it's that Victoria! *walks off with a look of profound realisation on her face*

Funnily enough, I already knew that there was a Victoria in Canada (thanks to the fact that I have a friend who has actually been there :D)...what a coincidence...

Well, I'm going to get the BA and see where that takes me. The current plan is to collect degrees until the dork police kick in my door, give me a sweater-vest and make me take a job as a professor, but that could easily be revised.

Awww, what are you trying to imply about professors Cuppa? :p
(So far I've made two observations: a) they are dorks and b) they wear sweater-vests :D)

But seriously, I'm sure you'd make a great professor. You give off a learned aura, which is a very good start. ;)
