My friend, you came from my hometown. Sorry for the typo!
Since you came from my hometown, my friend,
You should be familiar with things going on there;
The day you passed my silken window,
Had the plum tree begun to blossom yet?
My friends, in a sense, we all came from the same hometown; I miss you before you know that I exist. I'm curious and fond of life, and that's why I love poetry. My friend, I have come from our hometown with the good gospel.
Let me tell you bits and pieces happening at our lovely little hometown.
The above is a five-character quadrain composed by a Chinese renowned poet in Tong dynasty. It's more than one thousand years ago, but it still appeal to me like the old days.
What do you feel, my friends?
What does the poem try to get across after all those years?
Your feedback will be much appreciated by everyone?
Love,
Pious
