Oh! sorry:o Don't you recognize your own language? It's the first 11 lines of Beowulf in the Old English. I had to memorize these lines to recite for my History of the English Language class. The trouble is there are two symbols for "th" and another one for "ae" but I couldn't get them to show up here, so it doesn't look the way it's supposed to. Though maybe when I recite it, it doesn't sound the way it's supposed to either.

My sig is the first few lines of a beatles song, the octopusses garden, written by ringo. I liked it, some how when I read it, it made sense to me and really meant allot. It is hard to explain, it just kind of touched me.

I read Beowulf in english class, it was really hard to get through, the Micheal Crichton book was esier to read, "Eaters of the Dead", I highly recomend it.

Hmm, Beowulf, Buffy, and Beatles... is it just the alliteration that gets me?

My username is from lyrics from The Promise Ring

"I'm dumb like a poet and proud like a painter"

and my sig is just from me.

Mine is from a song by System of a Down called Chik'n Stew. Its pretty much random and I've been contemplating a new one.

My username Isagel is a character from Aniara, one of my favorite books .

Itīs also a word meaning one of two or more objects carrying the same information.

Sadly it has been brought to my attention that itīs better known as a name for hand desinfectant. Brrrr.

My new sig is a quote that I really like, and one that i try to keep in mind when working with people.

"in accordance with prophesy, I have spoken"

this is just something people at school started saying to make fun of people who think their words are more important than they actually are...

whenever I see "in accordance with prophesy, I have spoken" at the end of one of my more serious posts... I just have to smile... because it reminds me that if i take things too seriously, i will make a fool out of myself... especially if I start thinking my opinion is so important that it must be right... or that it is divinely inspired...

how did i come by simply complicated? the connection of the elementary concepts of everyday thinking with complexes of sense experiences can only be comprehended intuitively and it is unadaptable to scientifically logical fixation. the totality of these connections-none of which is expressible in conceptual terms-is the only thing which differentiates the great building which is science from a logical but empty scheme of concepts. by means of these connections, the purely conceptual propositions of science become general statements about complexes of sense experiencs. life is simply complicated.

Part of it is an advertisement for "Atheist Network Chat" a room I moderate..

The other simple line of "I know You" is a spoken word poem by Henry Rollins that I found quite poetic and similar to me when he spoke it. I'd suggest downloading it.. Quite good.

In this moment it's a Pet Shop Boys song. Those 3 lines are the whole lyrics... I like them, and I like the song, it's wonderfully electronic as I said somewhere else (that sort of sound gives me inner peace).

I mostly use songs for my signatures (except the Baudelaire one I used for a long time here, do you remember?), often i listen to music and think 'hey I should use this as sig in some forum...then I forget about which line I wanted to use, or it's too long, or too depressive, or just doesnt fit... and then I dont want to change it so often.
