About five years ago I went to a friend's house and he had a poem on the wall of his bedroom. I loved the poem and I have been trying to track it down without luck. He moved and forgot the poem. while I remember the basic theme and structure, I forget the important things like author's name and the title. I am just asking for help, if anyone knows or thinks they know the poem or author, I'm seriously frustrated...
The poem begins by talking about hunger and all the symptoms of starvation, then moves on to talking about cold, and freezing. In the end of the poem, the author describes death as freeing an individual from all the ill effects of starvation and freezing and all the other symptoms of unrequited love. then you realize, at the end of the poem, that the author was talking about the pain of unrequited love the whole time.
If this seems familiar, or you what poem I may be after, please reply! THANKS SO MUCH!
