Hi, I'm Susan. I found this site on google while looking for an online book club to join. I love to read and especially enjoy reading the classics. My favorite authors are John Steinbeck and Thomas Hardy. I have decided to read the January book, Pygmalion and look forward to the book discussions.

About me: I'm 51 years old and married with children, two teenagers, a husband and two dogs. I am currently employed part time as a special education instructional aide at a junior high school. Prior to having children, I worked full time as an accountant. I have recently taken up golf and have enrolled in a spanish class at a local college. Since my children will be moving out of the nest soon and on to college, I decided that I needed to get a life of my own, hence the golf and the spanish class.

For the past five years I have been trying to read all the books I should have read in high school and college. However, since my BA was in Business Administration I did not have much of an opportunity to read the classics.

This site looks really interesting and I am glad I found it.

Welcome, Susan! That cup of coffee looks delicious. I think I'll make myself one just like it right now. I'm sure you'll enjoy this place; some of the literary discussions around here are wonderful. I think I'll take up golf one of these days as well. In fact, I'm going to reinvent myself as a man of leisure, soon. :p I'm glad you found us also. Again, welcome.

Awesome!!! From a fellow Californian, welcome, Susan. :) You sound like you're doing a great job keeping busy, and how nice that you have time to read now! Your quote from Twain is one of my favorites of his, btw.
