In all ( and I know I'm in the minority of my English class when I say this but) 1984 was a fairly good novel. I believe this isn't a novel one can read lightly, it forces you to take a step back and think about what you just read. It helps you to realize what an affect the government has over our society, that many people are in the dark about. I would recommend this novel for someone who isn't looking for a light read, because it isn't one. You have to take the time to think about it and then you will understand the concept. I also recommend this novel to someone who has some attention span, because this novel can get boring, but you have to push through it. This novel is not hard to understand if you take the time and don't give up on it. So to wrap things up, 1984 is a novel that forces you to look at your own society and see that in some instances Orwell hit the nail right on the head.:smash:

I agree in some way, at first this book did not grab my attention, but once into it i started to think her maybe this book wont get too bad, then you hit a huge brick wall while reading "the book", if you can get through that you have my respect lol, anyways, all in all this book is preety good, like seattlegrace, i recommend this book to some people, but if you hate books do not read it, well anyways i say the book is about 6-7/10

I didnt find the book hard to get into at all, in fact it was one of those books i try to span through a 2 week period so i didnt have to get to the end hehe, I admit that "the book" was quite a 'brick wall' but I found it quite interesting. Maybe I'm just strange lol.
