Brian
You drunken fool.
Sell your soul
for instant gratification
Drown your brilliance in
pulp, ease your
bruised pride with
success.
You spectacular failure.
Unwritten masterpieces
disperse, as your
cancerous corpse lies
in Strabane,
nothing achieved

Strabane is a small town in County Tyrone, Ireland. It's the birthplace of Brian O'Nualláin aka Flann O'Brien aka Myles na gCopaleen, the writer with which the poem concerns itself:)

Very powerful words - sharp and to the point. I enjoy clarity in writing and you have an obvious skill with that.
I feel for Brian - I heard somewhere that the most brilliant minds often have the most persuasive demons. Still, a shame when brilliance is squandered.
I love Dublin!! Very much:)
