The globe was lying on the plain
and the sun shone overhead
I was running through...
Trying to behold the person who I one loved.
But I vainly hoped seeing her,so
I started crying and was grieved at her
when I felt somthing at my feet.
I looked more attentive
and saw the globe.
It was lying in the sun
for two days or possibly
a month.
May it be send by God?
I took it in my arms
and hold it while I farther run.
I sat down on the grass,
in the accacia's shadow
and exploring the world,
I remained astonished
of the wonders which stood at my feet while
I was crying for a girl.
I had just to lift a hand
and all my wishes came nearer.
I just said ''Marocco'' and
I was transported to the land,
where Garbo once
did dance.
I wondered how Australia might be
and instantly I flew over another plain.
When I noticed the huge skyscrapers,
I recalled the time when I was little and
dreamt of going to Chicago.
To see the gangsters without
being in danger but to feel the taste
of the adventure's nature.
I went all over,
felt the touch of Niagara's fall,
rose with joy at any nature's bow,
crossed the world as
Magellan once did.
But when I felt I missed someone
I lifted a hand...
My eyes showed what I thought:
"I cannot live without my life!''
''I cannot live without my soul!''
Not even when wandering through the isles...
