what is your reaction 2 myrtles death and what effect can different reactions 2 Myrtles death have on understanding the novel as a whole? help plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz :crash:

I suppose the two main conflicting views would be:
1. Myrtle got her just deserves.
2. Myrtle was the innocent victim.

If you think Myrtle got her just deserves, because she was aware of the consequences, then everything in the novel would put a more serious blame of the characters for their actions.

If you think Myrtle was the innocent victim, then it takes into consideration that there were other forces at play, like society. That Daisy was not to blame for not waiting for Gatsby and being so money orientated, after all that is just exactly the society she was born into.
