My plans in life:

1. To have a good education
2. To find a true friend
3. To fluently speak French
4. To write my own book
5. To live a fulfilled life
6. To be proud of myself

#6 is the most challenging for me, followed by #5 and #2. They're the three which I believe I could spend my entire life chasing after but never managing to grasp even a sliver of their shadows.

Some very ambitions plans, no doubt. I'd probably never be able to complete such a feat in my life. :thumbs_up

Yeah, it is difficult. But this is what I plan/want to do, keeping in mind that plans can fail. My mostly fail as a matter of fact. :p

But there is always some hope. :D

Hmm, this can be answered at several 'levels' so I shalt provide an answer for all of these.

Job/Career: Something in either Film or Fictional writing. I don't know what though. I guess my 'dream' would be to make films I write and also become a published author.

Home/Residence: A medium sized house in a good area near a large city with good transport links. Mansions and such are way over-rated.

Romance: Right now...ANYTHING. But 'dream' wise, I guess to be together with someone who really loves me and whom I really love also. Ya know, teh typical romantic nonsence.

Children: I'm extremly undecided about this right now. I guess overall I don't want any, but that could change over time. I guess it would be nice to have some just to prove to some of my friends that I am capable of care and love and such. But thats a really bad reason, haha.

Social Status/'Power: I really don't care about this. I have no desire to be well known nor to 'rule the world'. Far too much effort.

Crazy plans that won't happen but what the hell: Me and a close friend have often joked that we would open a private drugs lab and become the next Alexander Shulgins, haha. We can dream...

So yeah, there you go!

I plan to take my next exam in either January or March, finish my studies as soon as possible and to make more plans as soon as I've achieved at least one of my current goals.
They'll most probably include marrying rich, preferably a Scot or an Englishman, become famous and publish a book. Oh, and take over the world.

My plans are: 1- to be peace in the world
2- Getting married, good man who loves
3- End the college with success
4- Trying to make my lips always smile
5- I wanna be great author in the future

Maybe it is impossible dream
But I try to make it real

Romance: Well I dont belive in romantic love but Id like to marry someone who I could trust completly and who could be my best friend.

Children: hehe Now this is one I swing from side to side, today is a I want kids day...saterdays usally are its seeing all those dads with thier kids at work in the morning, but when Im sane I usally say no.

Social Status/'Power: I will be the most powerful person in the world Mwahhahahah :brow: well in my world anyway I guess Idont want to be that powerful although Im not saying I dont want the benifits of it.

Crazy plans that won't happen but what the hell: UN secreitary general, or somthing like that. Somthing where I can speak my mind and have people listen for real.....

1. Create a slang word that soars in popularity, then becomes tiring until finally it is totally passé and mocked on SNL.
2. My career goal, writing and illustrating children's books. (and preferably, selling more than a dozen copies of each)
3. Name a future pet Godzilla, whether or not it's a lizard.
4. Marriage plus a flock of little frenzied terrors.
5. Learn to cook. (well.)
6. Continued happiness, certainly.

Actions speak louder than words

That's exactly right. I feel stupid making such far reaching plans, because it seems better to just work at them rather than declaim them (plus, I look at my goals from 5 years ago and realise that not only have I failed to accomplish any of them, I wouldn't want to anymore anyway!).

:) Thanks Poetess! I just think its a really worthy cause. No child in the world should go without a home, especially if it is only because of their gender. Plus, I can teach them both Chinese and English :D

There is another issue that is based on the gender 'Female Infanticide.' I dont understand why people (many rural and illetrate Indians) take girls as a burden on the family. And, some are killed even unborn, through sex determination techniques (though it is a law, and its illegal to find out sex of a child before being born), and if its a girl, some ruthless people abort it.

That is so horrible Maddie....i shall have to adopt an Indian girl too :) If only people would prioritize their hearts over their prejudice.

Madhuri
01-01-2007, 05:15 AM
Yes perhaps, only if they let the girl come into this world. But do you think adopting will help so much? Maybe that individual girl only, but not every girl in general. I am talking more in terms of their (familie's) mindset, its not easy to change that. What you say about prioritizing is something I would also recommend, but I also think that its not that they like killing their own child, its the circumstances that make them do it. But if you ask me, i'll not take 'the circumstances' as an excuse for doing such an act.

I'll stop here, else you might think I am staunch feminist :D

very bleak...but, I don't think that is an impossible goal...overtime, you will find that a great many things are worth dying for, even if you have only held those things for a brief period...

...but one thing that seems to be worth dying for but infact is truly not, is revenge...avoid seeking vengence and you shall find more nobler reasons. :)

not exactly...Its one of the finest scifi show ever created (canceled unfortunatly) but you can still download or buy the series (I actually reccomend buy for this one ;) )

there was a movie based on it aswell...Serenity...

...but anywho, the show takes place in the future, where the only to powers left on earth (well superpowers) are US and China, so earth has one gov, but is officially bilingual, and most of the crew of the spaceship Serenity (a firefly class merchent/smugglers vessel) speaks both chinease and english. :D
