Perhaps one of my first posts on this site should have been a nice, friendly little introduction. As you can see, my desire to post in the other threads won out. That, coupled with the fact that I'm not really "into" this sort of thing where we randomly segue into the place and add one more to the already ginormous pile of "Hello, I'm new" posts.

Let's see. Basically, I'm just a student in the midst of completing High School and looking to major in English and Math (strange combination, people say). Occasionally I do a bit of creative writing - prose more so than poetry, I read, and I draw (though this one not as often anymore).

I generally enjoy hearing peoples' suggestions and opinions, so for starters if any of you have short pieces of prose by various authors that you'd like to recommend or share, please do. I'm all up for it! :D

Hi there, Silv
I saw you posting around a bit, but it's nice to get to know you better .
I don't think English and Maths a strange combination: after all, you either have brains or you don't :p. Just kidding :D.
With your hobbies, you sound like someone perfectly fitting here ;).

As to your asking for a short prose suggestion, I'd recommend Henry James's The Turn of the Screw, which I recently read and found very good; well written and keeping you hooked.

Hope you'll stay with us, and again welcome on board ! :)
