What is faith?

Faith to me can partly be the ability to be moved when one realizes that the ninth chapter of the book of Saint John in the King James Bible records the story of a remarkable event in the life of a man born blind and years later touched by Jesus while alive on the earth so that this man had vision to see. If this story records what actually occurred, then is this event unusual? I certainly think so. Would you agree?
