The book....Yes the book. What dose the book have to do with Winston and Julia becomeing one of the people in the brotherhood? It seem's like the they have every thing figure out. O'brtian told them how to got there orders. So what more do there need to Know?

There are also many other reasons why someone's writing here may not be perfect.
