summer grace

I wrote this, but it's pretty bad. It's free verse, but I hope it catches a mood. Tell me what you think.

Life moves on past
the autumn trees
heavy with scarlet leaves
and the waning sun

Life goes on after the
loss and pain, after
the event is autumns past
all you are supposed to forget

Life is long the years
putting a new touch on
old events and forgotten things
we would rather not forget

Life is what we say it
is in the sun of summer
beyond the cold of winter
beyond those endless nights

You and I parted years
ago in another autumn
when the leaves fell onto
the quiet streets and as

The sun wanes the years go
by and leave me in
quiet October days
wondering where you have gone- Autumn, 2006

summer grace - I just saw this. I like it very much! :) I wrote something in a similiar vain called "Frozen Summer". There is another poetry thread. You should post this poem in it. It is very nice and I have felt the same way....life can go on about us, and yet we hardly notice when our hearts are somewhere else.

Oops posted it twice - sorry:blush:

The poetry thread is called "Write Or Share A Poem" - don't be shy SC - post it!
