the music that proles heard was "composed" using machines that mixed the same rhythms and the same made-up phrases.

what's teen pop music nowadays? pretty much the same, but still mixed by humans...

In my book, not on english; it goes:
ANGLO - i thnk it's a shorter form of Anglosakson, term used for British and American people
SOC - society
Together is ANGLOSOC.
My opinion...

Okaaaay, here we go (deep breath). Ingsoc stands for English Socialism (i know "English" is not spelled "Inglish" but that's how it sounds), it is baisically the development of the socialists that could be found in Britain during the 30s and 40s that supported the USSR and so the regime in 1984 reflects the situation that existed in Russia at the time, exept kinda on steroids. Ingsoc is the only political party in allowed Ociania and uses a mixture of propaganda, terroristic repression, and barefaced lies in order to maintain control for it's own sake. Ingsoc is where Orwell thought Stalinism could have gone, (deep breath) there you go, the baisics of Ingsoc, hope it helps:thumbs_up .
